Lee Jaramillo, 87, a resident of Santa Fe and formerly of Pilar, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Jaramillo, infant son, Clifford; parents, Amadeo and Florinda Jaramillo; brothers, Alfonso and Gilbert Jaramillo, and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Jaramillo. Lee was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Navy and was stationed on the USS St. Paul. He was honorably discharged after several years in service. He was also a barber in the Navy and continued to cut hair after he was discharged. He retired as a journeyman meat cutter after 40 years with the UFCW Retail Union. Lee always had a smile on his face and for those who knew, him was always a jokester. He loved the outdoors and loved to fish the streams of Northern New Mexico but can’t forget riding the lakes in his boat with his family aboard. Lee is survived by his children, Clifford Jaramillo (Eileen) and Elaine Jaramillo; grandchildren, Natalyn, Jason, and Jonathan Jaramillo; and sister, Lucille Chavez (Larry); along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Westminister Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. with military honors. The family of Lee Jaramillo has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
