Larry R. Parnell

Larry R. Parnell, 67, a resident of Abiquiu, passed away from a lengthy illness, on Friday, March 6, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorna Houston-Parnell; father, Delbert Ray Parnell; brother, Houston Parnell-Hemingway; sister, Lorna Ruth Parnell. Larry was a business owner of Pioneer Drilling for 30 years, as well as a military veteran for the U.S. Army. He helped his wife with her business as well, The Blue Spruce Bar. He was very knowledgeable, and was a jack of all trades. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Parnell is survived by his wife, Eppie Jaramillo-Parnell of Abiquiu; daughter, Sarah Parnell-Combs of Farmington, grandchildren, Antonio and Isaiah; son, Adam Parnell of Pagosa Springs, CO; brothers, Lloyd and Carol Parnell of San Acacia, and Wanye Parnell of Abiquiu; sisters-in-laws, Theresa and Antonio Vasquez and Velma and Ron Clevelle; brother-in-law, Ben and Sally Jaramillo and family, all of Abiquiu, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, with a burial to follow at the Abiquiu Catholic Cemetery.The family of Larry R. Parnell has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
