Larry G. Chavez

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Larry G. Chavez, a resident of Espanola, NM, formerly from Chimayo, NM, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family by his side.

Larry G. Chavez was born on May 27, 1967, to Arturo Chavez and Benilde DeAguero in Santa Fe, NM.

Larry was preceded by his maternal grandparents Florentino and Juanita DeAguero; paternal grandparents Ezequiel and Anita Chavez; beloved sister Patsy K. Martinez; nieces Renee and Janet Chavez; and nephew Jose Duran.

Larry G. Chavez is survived by his loving parents Arturo Chavez and Benilde DeAguero of El Llano, NM; loving daughters Mandie Chavez (Reina) of Velarde, NM; grandkids Nathaniel Herrera, Arianna Voight; Daughter Tammy Chavez (Jose); grandkids Abran, Kaitlyn, Sophia Rodriguez of Velarde, NM; Daughter Antoinette Salazar; stepdaughters Leslie Vialba, Cindy Aguilar (Rudolfo), Sara Aguilar; stepson Jorge (Ho Ho); brothers Rick Chavez of Espanola, NM, Johnny (Christine) Chavez of Arroyo Seco, Jerrell Chavez of El Llano; Sisters Jackie (Randy) McWhorter of Albuquerque, Annabelle Nancy (Allen) Sisneros of El Duende, NM, Florence (Luis) Lucero of Hernandez, NM; special friends Marvin Martinez, Barbara Martinez, Laurie Linerberger, Diane Montoya; Fur babies Oreo and his two cats whom he called Oreos secretaries; along with many numerous friends and cousins.

Larry G. Chavez was a heavy equipment operator by trade and was proud of the machines he used and the work he did. He enjoyed his campfires, mountain and backroad trips, and most importantly, spending time with his family, friends and most of all his right-hand man and brother, Jer.

Larry G. Chavez will be dearly missed and forever hold a special place in our hearts. Until we meet him again, let us hold onto the moments, memories, and love he left behind.

A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 7:00 pm at Victory Faith Church (823 Angel Duran Drive) in Espanola, NM.

Mass of Christian Burial with be on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM, with Burial to follow at Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo, NM.

Serving as Pallbearers: Nathaniel Herrera, Abran Rodriguez, Marvin Martinez, Juanito Chavez, Luis Lucero, Allen Sisneros and Louie Lucero.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his Grandkids, Arianna Voight, Kaitlyn Rodriguez, and Sophia Rodriguez.
