Katie - Age 73 - Alcalde Villareal

KATIE VILLAREAL, 73, a resident of Alcalde, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012. She was preceded in death by her children, Abbie and Angelo Villareal; parents, Jose and Abelina Medina and in-laws, Amarante and Teresina Villareal. Katie loved to sew, cook and take care of her flowers in her garden. She was also a member of the Living Waters prayer group. Mrs. Villareal is survived by her husband, Juan Villareal; sons, John R. Villareal and Hector P. Villareal all of Alcalde; daughter, Rebekkah Aguilar and husband James of Española and numerous grandchildren; great-grandson, Adrian Fernandez, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Jarrod and Jessica Villareal, Amanda and Tommy Villareal, Loren, Brett and Katelyn Villareal and Alyssa and Santiago Aguilar.
