Kathleen Joy Ortiz

Kathleen Joy Ortiz, aka as Kat of Chimayo NM, went home to be with our Lord Jesus.  Kat was born on January 3, 1982.  Her work here on earth is done.  She departed from this earth and will be reunited with family and friends she has not seen for a long time. Kat is preceded in death by her companion Josette Barela; sister Nichole Martinez; maternal grandmother Emilia Vigil; uncle Max Vigil; aunt Sharon Vigil Garcia; paternal grandfather Joseph Abel Ortiz and grandmother Ernestina Ortiz.

Kat will be dancing the corrido, listening to Spanish music and singing her favorite songs.  Her beautiful smile, joyful laughter and positive attitude will be missed by all.  Family was most important to Kat.  She rarely missed an opportunity to spend time with her family especially with her nephew Julius niece/Godchild Angelina, and niece Emily. Kat was a special daughter, granddaughter, aunt, niece and friend.  We will miss your humor, laughter, kindness, friendliness, jokes and welcoming spirit.

Kat is survived by her father Paul Ortiz and companion Kathleen Leyba; mother Joyce Pacheco and stepfather Mike Pacheco; brother Joey Martinez and companion Roxanne Pacheco; grandfather Tiburcio Vigil; nephew Julius Griego; nieces Angelina Trujillo, Emily Vigil and Auria Duran.  Kat had many, too many uncles, aunts, relatives and friends that she loved dearly.

A celebration of Kat’s life will be held at Truth Ministries Calvary Chapel in Arroyo Seco, 18496 Hwy 84 on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.

Kat’s family is very grateful and thankful to all who contributed to the search of Kat, bringing her home and giving the family closure.

Gone, but not forgotten.  Rest in peace, Kat.
