Karl Louis Meier, 77, a resident of Los Alamos went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 16, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Vilma Meier. Born in St. Louis, MO on March 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Louis William Meier and Edna (Plagemann) Meier.\r\nHe was a staff member (mechanical engineer) at Los Alamos National Laboratory for 40 years. In retirement he and his wife greatly enjoyed traveling throughout the US in their RV.\r\nHis survivors include his wife, Vilma, son Andy (Kelly), grandchildren Carson and Anna, daughter-in-law Gretchen Meier, grandsons Tristen and Trace, granddaughter Megan and great grandson Logan, brothers David (Kathryn) and Robert (Karen).\r\nHe was the loving uncle of nephew Steve Meier, nieces Becky Williams, Angela Meier Harvey and Krista Meier Helton.\r\nA celebration of his earthly life and his present glorious life in the presence of God will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2390 North Rd., Los Alamos, NM. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund in memory of Karl Meier at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The family of Karl Louis Meier has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n
