Karen J. DeAguero “Care Bear” 45, a resident of Santa Fe and originally of Chimayo passed away unexpectedly on Friday June 11, 2010. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Jose E. and Eugenia Duran. Paternal grandfather; Jose DeAguero. 4 brothers; Leroy, Joseph, Mark and Isaac DeAguero. Karen was born in Fairview and attended the Espanola Schools and was a 1983 Espanola Valley High School graduate. She was a well known and much loved singer, song writer and recording artist who donated a lot of her time to “Put a smile on a child’s face” and participating in many community events, such as church bazaars, Christian concerts, Espanola Fiestas, having been fiesta queen in 1989. In 1983 Karen was the recipient of “The Young Woman of the Year” award. Through her singing Karen earned and won many distinct awards. She loved camping, fishing, hunting and all outdoor activities. Karen was much loved and will be dearly missed by many. She is survived by her mother and stepfather; Lorraine and Jake Suazo of Santa Fe. Father; Harby DeAguero of Chimayo. 2 brothers; Peter DeAguero and wife Sophie of Santa Cruz and Timmy DeAguero of Chimayo. Grandmother; Rosario DeAguero also of Chimayo. Numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, God-children and a grand number of friends. Cremation has taken place and a Devotional service will be held on Tuesday June 15, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday June 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Chapel in Arroyo Seco with Pastor Dion Cordova officiating. The family of Karen J.
