Julia Valdez

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother and grandmother, Julia T. Valdez, 81, who passed away after a short illness on Thursday, September 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Tony Joe Trujillo (TA); her parents, Daniel and Rebecca Trujillo; brothers, Jose, Freddy, Daniel, Gilbert and Louie Trujillo; sisters, Dolores Rivera and Maria Archuleta and the father of her children, Juan P. Valdez; a dear uncle and aunt she considered as her second parents, Jubencio and Josie Trujillo. Julia was born and raised in Los Ojos, on November 8, 1934 she moved to Española with her family in 1969, she had seven beautiful children, six who survive her, Eloy Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM, Johnny Valdez and companion Darcel of Albuquerque, Rebecca Money and husband Robert of Alcalde, Danny Valdez and wife Annabelle of Chimayo, Donna Mae Valdez of Tierra Amarilla, and Josie Valdez of Fairview; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; she is also survived by her second family; brothers, Junior Trujillo and wife Karen, Delfinio Trujillo and wife Patsy, Gene Trujillo, Antonio Trujillo and wife Toni and Manuel Trujillo (Doreen); sisters, Lorraine Pacheco and husband Ruben, Teri Trujillo and Marcella Trujillo all of Chama and many nieces and nephews. Julia’s home was always open to everyone she loved to cook, bake and travel and was known to many as their grandma Jul. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses that took such great care of our mother, also to her caregiver, Martha Serrano. May God Bless you all for the wonderful care to our mother and grandmother. A rosary will be recited on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, followed by a Memorial mass at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. Carrying our mother and grandmother to her final resting place will be her God-son/grandson, Tony J. Valdez. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren, Nathaniel Ortega, Julian Money (Jolene), Vangalina Money, Christy Valdez, Tabitha Lopez (Dennis), Samantha Valdez (Matthew), Tamara Valdez (Daniel), Bernie Garcia III (Sue Halie), Andrew Garcia, Candace Valdez (Justin), Nicholas Montoya, and Christopher Romero, great-grandchildren, Johnpaul and Julian Joseph Money, Layla Money, Andres Valdez, Shanae Sanchez, TY and Donnamae Garcia, Jeroen and Ryah Romero and baby Lopez.
