Juan "Player" Age - 29 - Chimayo Lopez

Juan “Player” Lopez, 29, a resident of Chimayo passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 due to a fatal pedestrian hit and run accident in Santa Fe, NM. He was preceded in death by his father, Sammy Lopez Sr.; mother, Darlene Barela; stepfather, who raised him, Ricky Barela; grandma, Ophelia Padilla; uncles: Jerry, Julian, Juan, Mike and Jimmy Padilla; aunt, Cathy Padilla. Juan had a unique personality; he loved meeting new people and spending time with family and friends. Juan was a well known member at The New Life Fellowship Church in Santa Fe, NM. Juan is survived by his girlfriend, Raqual Coronado; his 2 year old daughter, Harmony and soon to be born second child; brothers: Sammy Lopez Jr., Ricky Barela Jr. and companion Vanessa Martinez, Dennis Barela and companion Santana; God-sister, Daniella Barela; nieces: Hailey and Amy; as well the Barela family; numerous aunts, uncles, and other loving relatives & friends. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving the family as pallbearers: Ignacio “Nacho,” Peter Aguilar, Daniella, Felix, Isaac and Anna Barela; honorary pallbearers: Harmony, Leroy, Xavier, Hailey, Amy and all of Juan’s cousins. The family of Juan “Player” Lopez have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
