Juanito - Age 67 - Truchas - Martinez

JUANITO E. MARTINEZ, 67, a resident of Truchas, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Perfilia Martinez; sister, Sally Mills; nieces, Sally Ann, Jeannie and Debra Anne and nephew, Adriano. Juanito served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He and his brother made fine furniture; he loved to work with his hands. He loved working on the ranch. He was the best brother and friend anybody ever had. He had a special love for his niece, Samantha Sandoval. Mr. Martinez is survived by his brothers and sisters, Mary Alice Bermudez of Santa Fe, Mary Benita Sandoval of Albuquerque, Dennis Martinez and wife Frances of Colorado and Ernesto Martinez and wife Rosanne of Truchas; nieces and nephews, Juan, Ramon Jr., Paul and wife Vanessa, Robert, Michael and wife Rowena and John Thomas; great-nieces and nephews, Samantha, Alexis, Nicolas, Jude, Brandon and Travis and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake to be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church in Truchas. Burial to follow at the Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers, Harry Cordova, Porfirio Cordova, Ramon Bermudez Jr., Robert Sandoval, Phil Dominguez and Elefio Montoya. Honorary pallbearer named is Bob Montoya. The family of Juanito E. Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
