Juanita Gallegos (Juana)

JUANITA F. GALLEGOS (JUANA), 71,  a lifelong resident of Abiquiu, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her father, Simon Martinez Jr.; brothers and sisters; Fr. Vidal, Juan, and Rafael Martinez and Marcella Gonzales. She is survived by her husband, Eloy Gallegos; children, Conrad and Bobbi Cordova, Agreda and John Clark, Maria Gallegos,  Manuela Gallegos,   Misha and Emily Gallegos, Alta Garcia, Colorado Cordova, and Castillo Cordova; grandchildren, Jolinda, Valentina, Zane, Hailey, Jessica, Lillian, JJ, Jashawn, Samantha, Raquel, Kristyana and Cruzita, 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Rafaelita Martinez; 3 brothers, 4 sisters and many nieces and nephews. Juana spent her whole career as a nurse in Northern New Mexico, she loved to spend her time gardening and outdoors.  Public Visitation will begin on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, with a rosary to follow at 6:00 PM. A Catholic Mass and burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu with an internment  to follow at the Abiquiu Cemetery. The family of Juanita F. Gallegos (Juana) has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
