Juan Carmen Trujillo, 81, born July 16, 1932, a lifelong resident of Rio Chiquito passed away at his home with his family beside him on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents Felipe and Filomena Trujillo; mother-in-law, Ignacita Trujillo; son, Leonard Trujillo; grandson, Anthony P. Martinez; sister, Bennie Trujillo; brothers-in-law, Herman Lucero, Nelson Vigil, and Tony Hurtado. Juan was a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Juan served in the United States Army during the Korean War; he had a big heart and would always help others. He loved the Lord, and was much loved by so many. Juan will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Juan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Trujillo; sons, Michael and wife Patricia, Eddie and companion Jeanette, his daughter Judy Trujillo; grandson that was raised by him Rudy Trujillo; sisters, Stella Lucero, Dora Vigil, Sophie Hurtado; father-in-law, Soloman Trujillo, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends and his beloved little dog Lucky who never left his side. Public visitation will begin on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 6:15 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a burial to follow at the Rio Chiquito Cemetery, serving the family as pallbearers will be Julian Trujillo, Nestor Trujillo, Horacio Martinez, Tony Vigil, Froylano Montoya, and Kevin Vigil, honorary pallbearers, Rudy, Leonard Jr., Jeanette, Elva, Joey, Denise, Roberta, and Aaron. The family of Juan Trujillo has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
