JUAN A. (JOHN) ROMERO, 80, a resident originally from Peñasco, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 6, 2016. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father; Anita and Amarante Romero; his sister, Linda Franco, brother, Felix Romero; niece, Jackie Pacheco Ciskowski; and nephew, Roland Pacheco. John is survived by his soulmate of 52 years, Victoria; son, Juan O. (Johnny) Romero; daughters, Rosita Romero Rodriquez, Sylvia Nicodemus (David); Vickie Romero Garcia (Felix), and his son, Paul Romero; grandchildren, David Rodriquez, Joshua Henderson, Alexis Henderson, Adam Garcia, Victoria Garcia Valdez, Alejandra Garcia, great-grandsons, Jaspar Rodriquez, Troy Valdez and Caleb Valdez; brothers, Amarante Romero Jr., Nelson Romero (Esther); sisters, Lillian Lopez, Angelina Arguello, Mary Garcia, Loren Pacheco, Patsy Roybal (Patrick), many nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.  We will miss John dearly but in the midst of our pain, we know that he is now resting in peace in God’s loving warm embrace. Public visitation will begin on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Española, with a burial to follow at the Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde.  Serving the family as pallbearers, Roy Lopez, Jerome Romero, David Rodriquez, Adam Garcia, John Romero, Adam Roybal, honorary pallbearers, Joshua Henderson, Eliseo Ortega.
