Juan J. Duran Jr. beloved husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, father-in-law and uncle entered the Kingdom of Heaven at the age of 74 on August 3, 2023. Juan J. Duran Jr. was born August 3, 1949.
Juan is preceded in death by his infant daughter Elsa Duran, parents Juan and Maria Anastacia Duran, brother’s. Tony and Willie Duran, sister's Maria Quintana and Irene Duran, nephews (raised like brothers) Dennis Garcia and Joe Duran, nephew Tony Zamora, niece Annabelle Medina, sisters in law Susana Duran and Eileen Trujillo, brothers in law Rudy Valdez and Gene Trujillo, mother-in-law Simodeaca Lovato.
Juan was always very involved in politics where he met many friends throughout the county.
Juan is survived by his wife Ursula Duran, daughter Judy (Cem) Akcali, son's Johnny (Lori) Duran, Cory (Jennifer) Duran, sister Angie Ulibarri, special granddaughter AnnaStacia Serrano, special great grandson Jude Serrano, grandson's JJ and Rico, granddaughter's Althea, Jenika, Elodie, great granddaughter Anya, brother-in-law Felix (Grace) Valdez, niece’s Geraldine (Paul), Denise, Louella (Archie Sr.), Bernadine (Albert), Angela (Manuel), Andrea (Randy), Tara, Soledad (Sky), Gracie (Mike), Yolanda (Randy), Jeannie, Valorie, and Vicky (Jerry). nephew’s Patricio Jr., Isaac (Deanna), Allen (Victoria), Adrian, Felix (Gerry), Levi (Ruby), Johnny (Darlene), Joseph and Kenny (Laura), three very special friend's Ernie (Kathy) Velarde, Moises (Henrietta) Morales and Clyde (Tonita) Garcia and many great niece's and great nephew’s as well as cousins and friends.
A public viewing will take place on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 5:00 pm with a devotional service to follow at 6:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of Devargas Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 10:00 am at El Buen Pastor Church in Ranchitos, with interment thereafter to follow at El Buen Pastor Cemetery in Chimayo.
Carrying Juan to his final resting place will be Allen Ulibarri, Adrian Ulibarri, Archie Garcia Jr., Albert Rodriguez, Felix Valdez and Levi Valdez.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
