JUAN G. SANDOVAL, 70, a resident of Peñasco, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Juan was a lifelong resident of Peñasco. He worked all his life, starting with Montaños Body Shop in Taos, The Mica Mines at U.S. Hill. He worked as a Hot Shot Fire Fighter Stations in Peñasco and then for the L.A. National Labs for 25 years where he retired from. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Ramon Sandoval an Lionires Maestas; brother, Alex Sandoval; son, Meliton Adrian Sandoval; granddaughter, Crystal Sandoval; grandson, Tristen Angelo Sandoval; nephew, Tommy Cantou and several other close relatives. Mr. Sandoval is survived by his sisters, Helen Sandoval of Peñasco, Ramona Cantou and husband Tommy of Santa Fe and Lydia Dominguez of Chamisal; uncle, Teodorito and Lugarda Sandoval of Rio Lucio; children: Joe M. Sandoval of Santa Barbara, John D. Sandoval and wife Denise of San Luis, CO, Trisa Sandoval and Alex Herrera of Dixon, Raymond J. Sandoval and wife Sarah of Peñasco, Clyde Sandoval of Llano, Miquelita and David Miller of Washington and Kelvin Sandoval of Santa Barbara; step-daughter, Joyce Rodriguez of Rio Rancho; step-son, Clyde Sandoval; dear friend, Pearla Sanchez of Peñasco; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Peñasco. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Peñasco with burial to follow at Chamisal Community Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers will be: Joe Sandoval, Joe Lopez, Johnny Sanchez, Marty Vigil, Paul and Michael Sandoval.
