JUAN LUJAN, 51, a resident of Española, passed away to be with his Heavenly Father unexpectedly on Saturday, January 18, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Lujan and Maria Concepcion Palacios; grandparents, Justino Lujan, Juanita Barraza, Ramon Palacios and Maria de Jesus Pinon; uncles, Rodrigo Lujan, Alfredo Palacios and Raul Palacios and aunt, Nena Marquez de Lujan. Juan loved to go fishing and had many friends. He was very outgoing and made new friends everywhere he went. Juan was very kind and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He never turned his back on anyone. Juan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Lujan is survived by his companion, Lourdes Payan; children, Pancho Lujan of Taos, Juan Emiliano Lujan of Española, and Diana Lujan of Española; step-mother, Socorro Moreno Manriquez of Monterrey, Mexico; sister; Nancy Lujan and husband Carlos Ortega Rodriguez of Albuquerque; brothers, Raul and Angie Lujan of Pojoaque, Jesus and Rufina Lujan of Taos and Brother Cesar Lujan from Monterrey, Mexico; uncles, Jesus Lujan, Evaristo and Carmen Gerrero Lujan, Gilberto Chavez and Martita Palacios Chavez, Ramon Palacios and Manuela Macias Palacios; aunts, Gloria Gonzales Lujan, Socorro Saucedo of Chihuahua, Mexico and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at the Pojoaque Catholic Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Pancho Lujan, Bogar Polanco, Jesus Lujan, Raul Lujan, Sr., Justin Lujan and Raul Lujan, Jr., and Jose Chanes. The family of Juan Lujan has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
