Josie Age - 84 - El Guache Sisneros

Josie Sisneros 84, a resident of El Guache, passed away on Friday Oct. 28, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness. Josie was devoted to her family and loved family reunions. She enjoyed canning food also going to the casinos, piñon picking and making quilts. One of her favorite things to do was camping and being outdoors. She loved to joke and was a prankster. She will be missed extremely by her family and by those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband; Arsenio Sisneros; grandson she raised; Davey Sisneros; daughter-in-law, Lourdes D. Maestas. Josie is survived by her children: Isaac Maestas of Hernandez, Roy Maestas and wife Marsha of Rio del Oso, Doris Sisneros of El Llano, Betty Sisneros of Santa Fe, Joyce Romero of Las Vegas, NV, Allen Sisneros and wife Nancy of El Duende, Johnny Sisneros and wife Gerrie of El Guache; brothers: Joe Maestas of Payson, Utah, Max Maestas and wife Linda of El Guache, Clarence Maestas and wife Jenay of Vernal, Utah, Lee Maestas and wife Sandy of Castle Dale, Utah; sister, Liz Harrison of Vernal, Utah; Josie was blessed with 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel to DeVargas Funeral Home with a wake to follow at 6:00 and rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez. Burial to follow at San Jose Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Brian and Jesse Maestas, Derek Martinez, Andres Romero, Brandon Maestas, Allen and Johnny Ray Sisneros and Isaiah Romero. Honorary pallbearers named are, Kenneth Sisneros, Bobby Ray Sisneros, Javier Salido, Davey Paul Sisneros, Juan Lopez, Timothy Sisneros and Michael Lujan. The family of Josie Sisneros has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Family and Staff of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
