Josie Espinoza

JOSIE ESPINOZA, 91, born March 21, 1927 and passed away on her birthday, Wednesday, March 21, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Celestino (Tiny) Espinoza Jr.; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Manuel Diaz; children, Rosalie Maestas, Clarence and Nadine Espinoza; brothers, Juan, Phil, Luis, Albert and Guadalupe Diaz;  father and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Celestino Espinoza Sr.;  sisters, Merces, Frances and Irene; sons–in-law, Leroy Dixon and Manuel Ulibarri; grandchildren, Brian Dixon and Martin Ulibarri, infant great-grandson, Matthew Espinoza; brothers-in-law, Reggie, Donald, and Reggie Jr. Espinoza, sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Ruth and Elsie  Espinoza and several other relatives.  Josie loved her family dearly, she was a member of the alter rosary society, Holy Family and adoration chapel. She was a nurse by profession and retired after 40 years of nursing. She loved our Dear Lord whole heartedly. She enjoyed cooking for all the family gatherings and had a great sense of humor and loved helping people. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Connie) Espinoza, Charline Ulibarri and Annamae Dixon; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and several other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at La Villita Cemetery. The family of Josie Espinoza has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
