Joshua - Age 32 - Española - Chavez

Joshua B. “Squish” Chavez, 32, a resident of Española, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Jose Clotario and Orlinda Espinoza-Martinez, uncle; James Martinez, aunts; Linda and Karen Chavez, God-father; Eddie “Flappers” Gallegos, plus several close cousins. Joshua is survived by his son; Kaiden Jude Chavez, father; Mark Chavez and companion Josie Valdez, mother; Pamela Chavez and fiancée Alvin Flowers, brother; Jonathan Chavez and wife Georgianne Bird-Chavez, sister, Janaisa Chavez and fiancée Daniel Maestas, grandparents; Fermin and Marylou Chavez, nieces; Aria Chavez, Taliah and Markia Maestas, nephew; Ricardo Vigil, mother of his son; Sandra Maestas and several aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at La Igleisa de Santa Cruz de la Canada. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz with the following serving as pallbearers, Daniel Maestas, Kenneth Gonzales, Jesse Avila, Lionel Martinez, Michael Delvo, and Edward Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers will be Taliah and Markia Maestas, Aria Chavez, Ricardo Vigil, Jenay Avila, Bryan and Eric Chavez, Theresa Gallegos, Maryssa and Isaiah Chavez, and Rudy Martinez. The family of Joshua Chavez has entrusted their loved on to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
