Jose P. Quintana Jr. (Paul), a resident of Los Alamos, died peacefully at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, surrounded by his family on Friday, December 13, 2013. He was gently received in death by a son, Jerry and his parents, Jose Pablo and Onofre Quintana to include his siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen; his children, Loretta, Kenneth, Dina and her husband Dick Beaudoin and close family friends, Richard and Nancy Holmes and their children, Justin and Emily that are like grandchildren. He was determined to make a better life for himself, he joined the US Navy where he proudly served four years during the Korean War. He continued his education, and was a successful business man. He served on several governor appointed commissions. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, politics and supporting his fellow veteran. His strength in his beliefs, his love of God, family, and his Country will always be remembered. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. also at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Burial to follow at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Jose Quintana has entrusted their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. \r\n
