Josephine - Age 55 - Santa Clara Pueblo - Gallegos

JOSEPHINE (CITA) STONE GALLEGOS, 55, a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Preston Stone and brother, Charles Stone. Josephine loved her Indian culture and participated in many of the Pueblo’s dances. Previously, she was employed by the Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, for many years. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and loyal friend to many. Throughout her life, she was always kind and helpful and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Josephine is survived by her daughter, Darla Stone; grandchildren, Jaylene, Isaah, and Jada; mother, Clara Stone; sister, Bernadette Sanders and husband Bart; brother, Benjie Stone; nieces, Casey Stone-Romero and husband Jason, Aria Sanders, Sara Cordova and husband Max; nephew, Tsay Stone, and great nephew Tiger Romero; her dog, Mi Linda and cat, Emilio Roy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Church. The family of Josephine Stone Gallegos has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
