Joseph "Chefo" Martinez

Joseph A. “Chefo” Martinez, age 60, of Alcalde, NM, was born on April 19, 1963, in Fairview, NM, was called home to our Lord unexpectedly and tragically on March 6, 2024. 

“Chefo” was preceded in death by his father Antonio “Galento” and mother Cecilia Martinez, his beloved daughter Nichole, stepdaughter Kathy, and numerous other relatives and friends.  

Joseph is survived by his son Joey Martinez; granddaughters Ellie, Emily and Angelina, grandson Julius and mother of his children Joyce Vigil; his sisters Annette and husband Johnny Sanchez, Yolanda Martinez; brothers Kevin and wife Erica Martinez and Michael “Moreno” Martinez; and a very special niece Audrey Sanchez.   Sisters, Eleanor, Susanna, Pamela Garcia and Jill Archuleta, brothers, Bruce and Anthony Garcia, and many other relatives and friends.

“Chefo” was a very talented individual, especially, when it involved carpentry and working with cars.  He often was employed in the construction home-building business and as a handyman. He was an intelligent individual. He enjoyed playing his guitar, reading and writing. He loved his Riverside walks.  Above all he was a man of God with a strong faith in our Lord and Savior and would often share his faith among others.  Joseph loved his family wholeheartedly!
