Joseph - Age 64 - Albuquerque/Dixon - Martinez

JOSEPH MARTINEZ, 64, a resident of Albuquerque and previously of Dixon, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Joe listened to Spanish and oldies. He also liked to sing and had a good voice. Joe enjoyed driving his brand new Z28 Camaro car. He enjoyed keeping his cars very clean. He loved his Coca Cola drinks and had a pleasant personality. He made us laugh with his jokes. He served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Andres Martinez; mother, Eleiza Martinez; nephews, Johnny and Dion Martinez. Mr. Martinez is survived by his daughters, Anastacia Martinez y Ortega of Taos and Carol Emily Trujillo and husband Alfredo of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Teo E. Ortega and Marilyn Trujillo; brothers, Oliver Martinez and wife Soraida of Santa Fe and Elmer Martinez and wife Jessie of Dixon; sisters, Linda LaBreck and husband Ernest of Edgewood and MaryLou Espinoza of Española; aunts, Lucia and Anita Martinez of Dixon, Celine Chavez of Albuquerque and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial to take place on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, David Chavez, Eric Martinez, Terrance Martinez, Dean Martinez, Manuel Rodriguez and Donald Martinez. The family of Joseph Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
