JOSEPH ANTHONY RENDON, 43, a resident of Velarde, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose A. Rendon, Jr.; mother, Judy Foster; unborn baby, Jerard Angel Rendon; niece, Estrella Luz; paternal grandparents, Adelina and Andalecio Rendon; maternal grandparents, Ella and Cipriano Padilla and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.\r\nJoe was an avid hunter, fisherman, Cowboy fan and loved the Lobos. He adored his wife and boys and had a great smile and always made people laugh. Joe was a point blank, say it like it is kind of guy who left a huge void in many hearts.\r\nMr. Rendon is survived by his wife, Josie Rendon; children, Joseph, Jr. and Jeremy Rendon; step-mom and dad, Manuel and Elsie Valdez; brothers, Julian (Paula) Rendon and Christopher Trujillo; nephew, Julian, Jr.; nieces, Julianna Rendon and Sophia Silva; in-laws, Johnny and Veronica Silva; cousin who was like a sister, Brenda (David) Salazar; grandmothers, Elsie Manzanares and G.G. Rose; brothers-in-law, Ernest (Michelle) Silva and Chris Silva; step brother and sister, Reynel and Michelle; close friend, Frankie Martinez and numerous other relatives and friends.\r\nPublic visitation will begin on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial to follow at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery with Little Joe Rendon serving as the pallbearer. Honorary pallbearers named are, David, Adrian, Vincent and Paul Salazar, Julian Rendon, Chris Trujillo, Ernest and Chris Silva, Chris Martinez, Jose Anaya, Steve Martinez and Frankie Martinez.
