Jose "Nick" - Age 70 - Cordova - Mondragon

Jose N. “Nick” Mondragon, 70, a resident of Cordova, passed away of a short illness, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Salomon and Josefita Mondragon; brother, Jose D. Mondragon, sisters, Fedelina Romero, Eliza Romero, Gregorita Martinez; brothers-in-laws, Manuel and Marcello Romero, Victor and Amador Martinez, and many other nieces and nephews. Jose was a quiet, loving, and a giving person who enjoyed listening to religious scriptures and music, he also enjoyed the company if his family and friends. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jose is survived by his sister, Aggie Trujillo and husband Audelio of Truchas; sister-in-law, Alice Mondragon of Cordova; nephew and niece that helped care for him, Lucille Martinez and companion Eddie Lovato, Ernest Trujillo and wife Angela, nephew that was raised like a brother, Ricky Martinez of Cordova; close friend and neighbor Grace Trujillo of Cordova, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cordova Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Ricky Martinez, Brian Romero, Jacinto Romero, Ben Serna, Audelio Trujillo, Jr., and Jessie Romero. The family of Jose N. “Nick “Mondragon has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
