Jose G. Age - 88 La Mesilla Roybal

Jose G. Roybal, 88, resided in La Mesilla, NM and formerly of Santa Fe, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his children on Friday, January 21, 2011. Jose was a member of the Army Air Corps. Holding a rank of CPL. He worked at White Swan Laundry for 11 years and retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory after 27 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bowling and loved to be surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Julia N. Roybal; parents, Meliton Roybal and Facunda. Jose is survived by his second wife, Celia of Santa Fe, NM; sons: Frank Roybal and wife Suzan of La Mesilla, Jose E. Roybal and wife Mary of Arvada, CO; grandchildren: Francine Huerta and husband Ronnie of Alcalde, Randy Roybal and Fiancé Cecilia of Hernandez, Bianca Archuleta and husband Pete of La Mesilla, Marie Celeste Roybal of Denver, CO, Tamara Conley and husband Kenneth of Denver, CO, Valerie Roybal of Denver, CO, Sandra Roybal of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren: Kristen Lucero and fiancé Andrew, Frankie Roybal, Celine Roybal, Gabriel Huerta, Paul Huerta, Pedrito Archuleta, Alejandro Archuleta, Anastasia Conley, Mia Roybal. Public visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada in Santa Cruz with burial to be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full Military Honors at 11:00 a.m. with the following serving as pallbearers: Ronnie Huerta, Andrew Trujillo, Randy Roybal, Sandra Roybal, Marie Celeste Roybal and Frankie Roybal; honorary pallbearers: Kenneth Conley, Pete Archuleta and his great-grandchildren.
