Jose D. "Loles" - Age 97 - Herrera

JOSE D. “LOLES” HERRERA, 97, a resident of Chili, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Dolores and Estefanita Herrera; wife, Mary Herrera; son, Rudy Herrera; brothers, Avelino and Alfredo Herrera and sister, Asencion Sanchez. Mr. Herrera is survived by his children, Arthur Herrera and Mabel of Chili, Alice Garcia and husband Seledon of Abiquiu, Larry D. Herrera and wife Mary of Chili and Connie Norris and husband Larry of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Antonia Herrera of Chili; sister-in-law, Mary Montaño of Hernandez; brother-in-law, Joe Montaño of Farmington; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. also at the San Jose Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Aaron Herrera, Joseph Garcia, Dennis Herrera/David Martinez and Jason Norris, Rudy Herrera Jr., and Alfredo Herrera. Honorary pallbearers named are, Cornelio Sanchez, Lorenzo Herrera, Joseph Maestas, Patsy Martinez, Leo and Lucille Maestas and Melvin Maestas.
