Jose Damian - Roy, UT Lujan

Jose Damian Lujan passed away peacefully on August 29, 2010 in his home in Roy Utah. He was born on July 23, 1928 in Guachupangue, New Mexico, son of Damian Lujan and Senaida Vigil. On December 27, 1952 Jose married Marie Olivama Valdez in San Juan, New Mexico. Jose loved the outdoors and was an avid fisher and hunter. He camped as often as he could and enjoyed spending many quiet hours fishing. He will be missed by his loving wife Marie; daughters Shirley (Don) Berube , Layton UT, Niomi (Wayne) Somerville, Layton UT, Sons, Orlee (Nanette) Lujan, Farmington UT, Michael (Teresa) Lujan, Highlands Ranch CO, and Grandchildren Brock, Kellie, Brandon, Joshua, Noel, Anthony, Nicholas, Devin, Mitchell, Alexandria, and Ryan, as well as a multitude of friends. Also surviving are his sisters, Clara (George) Montoya, Lupe (Eli) Martinez, Ramona Salazar, and Carmen (John) Martsh and countless nieces and nephews. Preceding Jose in death were three sisters and three brothers. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Leavitt’s Ogden Mortuary. He worked at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1978 and was a veteran from the Korean War. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Haven Hospice for their kind care of Jose. Special thanks to Kathy Schulte his hospice nurse. Viewing will be held Wednesday September 1, 2010 at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 – 36th Street, Ogden Utah at 6 p.m., Holy Rosary will follow at 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden Utah at 10:00 a.m., Thursday September 2, 2010.
