Jose Arsenio Serrano – Age 74, a resident of Hernandez passed away on December 3, 2010. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Arsenio loved to make lots of tortillas and loved to drink his coffee all day. He was a man of great knowledge about events and people that had lived in Coyote and surrounding areas. Arsenio was a short man in stature but carried a big stick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Diego and Marie Elena Serrano; in-laws, Paul and Olivia Romero; Nora Espinoza; sister-in-law, Pauline Romero; brother-in-law, Paul Baca; grandchild, Arianna Braelyn Serrano. Arsenio is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine Serrano; daughters: Dora Velasquez and companion Chad Guenther, Nora and husband Larry Baca; sons: Diego and wife Anna Serrano, Juan Jose (J.J.) Serrano; 11 grandchildren: Audrey Velasquez, Renee Velasquez, Brian Velasquez, Audra Garcia, Wayne Velasquez Jr., Alvaro Jose Velasquez, Robert Baca, Alex Baca, Jacob Serrano, Tessa Serrano and Angelica Serrano; 8 great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Velasquez, Mathayus and Daphine Jaramillo, Avery De la Pena, Ventura and Natalia Velasquez, Eli Garcia Jr. and Autum Woodward; brothers: Antonio and wife Vitalia Serrano, Manuel Serrano and companion Trudy Chacon and Armando Serrano and companion Angelita Chacon. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Juan Bautista Catholic Church in Coyote with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Juan Bautista Catholic Church in Coyote with burial to follow at the Coyote Catholic Cemetery in Coyote.
