Jose (Toso) Lopez

JOSE FRUTOSO (TOSO) LOPEZ, 88, a resident of Velarde and Santo Nino passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 25, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his wife Irene; grandson, Jason; parents, Luis and Francisquita Lopez; In-laws, Jose Ignacio and Carlota Montoya; brothers, Mino and Bon Lopez; sister, Sophie Montoya; brothers-in-law, Arturo Cordova, Vivián Lopez, Jose F. Montoya, Benito Montoya, Jose I. Montoya Jr., Arturo and, sisters-in-law, Toni and Antonia Lopez and Ufelia Valdez; special aunt, Josie Espinoza . Jose is survived by his son James and wife, Geraldine; grandson, Derrick Sr. and wife Roberta; great-great-grandchildren, Derrick Jr., Diego, Dominic and Kaylie; brother, Pat Lopez, sisters, Sylvia Cordova and Lydia Lopez; brothers-in-law, Hernando (Lorraine), Henry (Mary), Vicente (Louisa), Casey and Reyes Montoya, sisters-in-law, Rafaelita Lopez, Angie Martinez, Elaine Sandoval (Tony), Mary and Mildred Montoya; and numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly and many relatives and friends.  Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde, with a rosary to be recited at 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., with a burial to be held at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Derrick Serrano Sr., Derrick Serrano Jr, Diego Serrano, Dominic Serrano, Mark Sandoval and Leo Montoya, honorary pallbearers are Reyes Montoya, Tito Ortiz, Benjie Duran, Cynthia Maestas, Tony Sandoval, Ronnie Gasca, and Charles Montoya.
