Jose Luis Roybal
Born on August 22, 1925 — Deceased on August 27, 2024
Jose Luis passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years old, surrounded by many of his loving family. Jose was born and grew up in El Rancho, New Mexico and attended both St. Michaels College and the College of Santa Fe. Jose retired from the State of New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration. Jose served in World War II Armed Services from 1943 - 1946, as a Sergeant Combat Veteran. Jose was married for 54 years to Mary Montoya and together they had thirteen children. Jose loved traveling and a few of his favorite travels included Hawaii and Ecuador.
Jose was a fun-loving humble person, so full of life, many times expressing his wonderful sense of humor and love with many who crossed his path — a hardworking, honest, and trustworthy father always providing for his family. Jose taught his family to work hard and respect everyone, instilling in his family to treat others as to how we would want to be treated, the
“Golden Rule.”
Our dad taught all of us responsibility at a young age and to have a strong faith, praying many times during his darkest hours keeping him safe and moving forward day to day. His saying was always “Thanks to God.” These words given to us always to remember and to live by daily. These many traits and values taught and passed onto us, his children. We cherished his beautiful light, his shining spirit, reflecting, and resonating through his eyes and within his heart and soul as we spent many days with him. Our dad, his legacy a beautiful part of him which will always live on through his blueprint of life — through his children, in his grandchildren, in his great grandchildren, in his great-great grandchildren, and many more generations to be. With all our love, Rest and be in Peace, dad.
