Jose Lucio Olguin, age 85, a resident of Hernandez formerly of Pecos, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo and Irene Olguin; wife, Senida Olguin; daughter, Dolores Olguin; brothers, Adolfo, Jr., Ralph, and Moises Olguin, and Freddy and Antonio Lopez. Mr. Olguin was an Air Force Veteran. He worked as a driller and a miner for many years. Mr. Olguin is survived by his children, Dennis Olguin, Brenda Jacquez (Eloy), Allen Landavazo, Dianna Olguin, Eileen Quintana (Sandy), Tom Medina (Melinda), Lucille and Denise Olguin; grandchildren, Crystal Saavedra (Tyra), Steven Trujillo, Leah Fuentes (Matias), Luciano Quintana (Berna), numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Augustine, Roberto, and Arsenio Olguin, Kate Martinez (Frank), Placido and Joe Lopez as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at 9:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Luciano Quintana, Samuel Olguin, Leonard Martinez, Nick Gonzales, Martin and Ralph Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be, Eloy Jacquez and Victor Salazar. The family of Jose Lucio Olguin has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
