JOSE LORENZO MARTINEZ, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his home in Chimayo. He was preceded in death by his sons, Raymond and Santiago Martinez; parents, Toribio and Celesa Martinez; in-laws, Ramon and Frances Padilla; brothers, Eluid, Hector and Orlando Martinez; sisters, Alycia Glass and Natalia Moya. Mr. Martinez is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Tessie; children, Earl, Tommy (Vivian), Dora, Andrew (Rhonda), Carlos (Alycia), Bertha, Lucas and Antonio; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby (Elsie) Martinez, Dennis Martinez, sister, Lita (Leroy) Ortiz and many other friends and relatives. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a memorial service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at El Potrero Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers, Earl, Tommy, Andrew, Carlos, Earl Jr., Lucas Martinez and Toribio Garcia.
