Tomas Jaramillo, 68 a lifelong resident of Youngsville passed away on February 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Tomas was preceded in death by his parents Jose Ernesto and Virginia Jaramillo, mother and father-in-law Antonio and Lucia Salazar, daughter in law Lena Jaramillo, brothers in law, Clifford Jaramillo, Harry Martinez and Robert Sandoval, nephews Leroy Jaramillo, Troy Montoya, James Jaramillo, Alfred Jaramillo and Simon Jaramillo.
Tomas is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Dolores Jaramillo and his son’s, Gene Jaramillo and Louisa and Derek Jaramillo (Grand puppy Nova). His brother’s Chon and Lupita Jaramillo and Freddie and Rosa Jaramillo; sisters Louisa and Daniel Pacheco, Patricia Jaramillo, Debra and Anthony Wheeler, Nieves and Norris Velasquez, Carlota Martinez and Geraldine Jaramillo, sisters in law Carmen Trujillo, Martha and Ben Martinez, Joanne Lucero, Rebecca and Felipe Trujillo and Theresa Salazar, brothers in law Johnny Salazar and Mary Ann, Alfonso Salazar and Mike and Angelica Salazar. God son Benjie Martinez and God daughter Julie Trujillo and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Tomas was a humble man and enjoyed the simplicity of life, he enjoyed the beauty of the Jemez mountains, fishing, pinon picking, going for wood and hunting. He enjoyed spending his time with his wife and sons. He enjoyed his visits with family and neighbors, enjoying a good cup of Cafecito or a cold cerveza. He worked for Cooks True-Value and with the Santa Fe National Forestry in Coyote as a Recreational Trail tech, and he also fought fires. He enjoyed working with wood, painting, carving and playing his guitar. Tomas will be greatly missed by all who know and loved him.
A public visitation will take place on Monday February 17, 2025, at 5:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to follow at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday February 18, 2025, at 1:30 pm at the San Pedro Catholic Church in Youngsville, with burial to follow at the Youngsville Community Cemetery.
