Jose G. Herrera “Beto”, born to Angela Arellano and Lawrence Herrera on April 21, 1981 was called to be with Our Lord and Savior on November 23, 2016. “Beto” is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Jose Gilberto Arellano (Beto). He is survived by his daughter, Katie Brooke Concha-Herrera; paternal grandparents, Eliu and Berlinda Herrera; maternal grandmother, Mary Arellano; sister, Alicia Romero (Eric Romero); God-Daughter/Niece, Joslynn; nephews, Josiah and Jonah Jose (due to arrive any day); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Our beloved “Beto” was best at home in the mountains or near a river, on horseback. “Beto” cherished his beautiful daughter and flourished as her daddy. He loved spending time with his brothers/cousins, Eli & Richie and Miguel, Mateo, Martin & Marcus, aka “The M&Ms”. “Beto” is best known for his mild mannered demeanor, his hard work and eccentric personality. He was always the life of the party and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Our families would like to thank our friends at DeVargas Family Funeral Home in Espanola, our beautiful St. Anthony’s Church and Catholic Community in Questa, The Questa/Cerro Friendship Circle for a nourishing meal, and all our family and friends from near and far for your tremendous love and support during this grueling time. We are not requesting financial support. The aforementioned prayers and accompaniment are more than sufficient for us. However if you are planning to send flowers our only request is; in lieu of flowers you send your donations to the Katie Brooke Concha-Herrera Education Fund c/o Alicia Romero
