Jose Gonzales

JOSE E. GONZALES, 79, a resident of Chamisal, born in Taos county March 31, 1938 passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018. Jose was preceded in death by his wife, Ida M. Gonzales; son, Bobby Dale Gonzales; parents, Victoriano Gonzales, Estefanita Trujillo; siblings, Eustaquio Gonzales (Ruth), Alicia Martinez (Joe) and Michael Gonzales. Jose was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed playing checkers and Cancun, going camping with his grandchildren and just simply being outdoors. He loved his ice cream and always having a good meal. Jose will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son, Frank Gonzales (Roberta); grandchildren, Christopher R. Gonzales, Elias J. Gonzales (Valerie), April S. Gonzales, and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ramona Lopez (Trankuno), Rosa Garcia, Rutilla Polaco (Ike), Lawrence Gonzales (Cecilia), Bernie Gonzales (Rose), John Gonzales (Eva), Victor Gonzales (Diana), Ermo Gonzales and Liberto Gonzales (Josie). Public visitation will begin on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Antonio De Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. also at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco.
