Jose L. Chacon, 81, a resident of Gallina, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Mr. Chacon was preceded in death by his parents, Sergio and Adelina Chacon; and sister, Eufemia Jacquez. Jose loved working on the ranch with his cows and horses. He was a member of La Cofradia de Nuestro Padre Jesus de Nazareno for 61 years and he retired from Duke City Lumber after 35 years. Mr. Chacon is survived by his wife, Celina Chacon of Gallina; sons, Sergio Chacon (Angie) of La Mesilla, Eddie Chacon (Ruby), Gene Chacon (Margaret), Frank Chacon (Rosanne) all of Gallina and Daniel Chacon of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Bryan, David, Nicole, Janice, Antonio, Heather, Eugenio, Jose, Racheal, Adrianna, Selina and Santiago; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Flugencio, Cosme and JB; sisters, Tillie, Mary Ann, Delma and Vangie; as well as many other loving relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina. Burial to follow at the Gallina Catholic Cemetery.
