Johnny P. Quintana (JPQ), 72, a resident of Española, born on August 29, 1938 to the late Antonio Celestino Quintana and Maria Eduvigen Valencia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. He served honorably in the United States Army. His hobbies included picture taking, wood and tin work, painting, fishing, visiting friends and relatives and watching his Denver Broncos. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Quintana; brothers-in-law: Johnny Herrera and Ben Martinez; god-sons, AJ Herrera and Johnny Borrego; nephew, Roland Quintana. Johnny is survived by his sisters: Amada Herrera of Riverside and Alice Martinez of Alcalde; brothers: Antonio Quintana Jr. and wife Nora of San Pedro, Jimmy Quintana and wife Viola of Fairview; god-daughter, Dolly Salazar and husband Jake of Albuquerque; god-son, Jacob Salazar of Albuquerque; uncle, Paul Valencia and wife Toni of Riverside; aunts, Isabel Valencia of Riverside and Sara Valencia of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law: Esther Quintana of San Pedro and Debbie Quintana of La Mesilla; along with many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass of Christian burial will celebrated on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to take place at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
