\r\nJohnny “Juan” Viarreal, 58, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh passed away of a short illness on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Viarreal; parents, Juan Estevan and Ernestina Viarreal; grandmother, Andrea Maestas; sisters-in-law, Esther Viarreal, brothers-in-law, Robert (Presley) Martinez and Don Wright, Clifford Cata. Johnny is survived by his children, April Viarreal, Victoria Viarreal and companion Rodney Archuleta, John Viarreal Jr. and companion Brianne Herrera, Isaiah Viarreal and companion Jasmine Abeyta; grandsons, Wally Stoop III, Darrian and Mylan Archuleta; brothers, Joe Viarreal, Elizaido Viarreal and wife Victoria, Robert Viarreal and companion Josephine Borrego, Larry Viarreal and wife Veronica, Kenneth Viarreal and wife Ida; sisters, Mary Wright, Theresa Valdez and husband Miguel, Orlinda Martinez and companion Alfredo DeVargas, Jeanette Espinosa and husband Thomas, Clara Romero and husband Frank; father and mother-in-law, Santiago and Patricia Naranjo; brother-in-law, James Naranjo, sisters-in-law, Phyllis Martinez and husband Roy, Janice Naranjo, Sandra Talache, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a burial to follow at Ohkay Owingeh Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Eugene Valdez, Rodney Valdez, Marco Talache, Roy Martinez, James Viarreal, James Naranjo, Christopher Trujillo, Mario Maestas, honorary pallbearers named are Andrew Espinosa, Gary Trujillo, David Viarreal, Roy Martinez, Walter B. Stroop, Walter Stroop III, Darrian, Mylan Archleta, and Nolan Cruz. The family of Johnny Viarreal has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
