In Loving Memory of Johnny C. (John John) Herrera III
April 20, 1971 – April 6, 2025
Johnny C. Herrera III, 53, of El Duende, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2025. His sudden departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Johnny was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents Johnny C. and Amada Herrera, Maternal Grandparents Ernesto and Crisella Vigil, his devoted parents, Johnny Jr. and Elvira Herrera, and his beloved Auntie JoAnn Herrera.
A proud and skilled electrician, Johnny dedicated 26 years of service to the IBEW Local 611 union, where he built not only a respected career but also lifelong friendships. His work ethic, integrity, and passion for his craft were second to none.
Beyond his profession, Johnny lived life to the fullest. He found freedom on the open road with his Harley, peace in the mountains, and joy in hunting and fishing. Whether it was a scenic ride through northern New Mexico or a weekend getaway with family, Johnny embraced each moment with enthusiasm and a big, unforgettable laugh.
Family was at the heart of everything Johnny did. He is survived by his loving children: sons Johnny IV(Brittany) and Jeremy Herrera, Julian and Justin Martinez (Fayth); and his only daughter, Joni Martinez (Isaiah). He was a proud grandfather to four beautiful granddaughters, with his first grandson on the way. Johnny also leaves behind his sisters, Debbie Quintana and Tammy Romero (John), Grandmother Mary Vigil, goddaughters Kayla Voight, Hayley Voight and Kamille Quintana; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, Aunts, Uncles, and a wide circle of cousins and friends who were more like family.
Johnny will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the contagious joy he brought to every gathering. He had a heart as big as his smile and a spirit that could never be contained. Though he is no longer with us in body, his presence will continue to shine through the stories, laughter, and love he left behind.
Rest easy, Johnny. You will forever ride in our hearts.
