John “Jasper” Guinane was born in Oakland, California on September 7, 1963. John departed this world on December 9, 2011. John was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Guinane and his brother, David Guinane. He is survived by his wife, Joann Guinane of the Pueblo of Pojoaque; sons: David and Steve Boyd; sisters: Danielle Sanabria and husband Rafael, Tracy Guinane; father, Jim Guinane; mother-in-law, Dora Martinez; brothers-in-law: Eddie Lopez, Liborio Lopez, Dennis Lopez, Robert Orozco, James Rivera, George Rivera and Daniel Moya; sisters-in-law: Priscilla Moya and husband Stanley, Veronica Alm and husband Terrence; special nieces, Angelica and Mireya Varela; nephews: Julian and Kiki Varela and Carlos Grado. John was very close to his neighbor, Erick Duran. John resided with his beloved wife on the Pueblo of Pojoaque for the past fifteen years. During that time John was employed by the Pueblo of Pojoaque as a groundskeeper/maintenance man. John loved gardening, wood carving, science fiction, and spending time with his wife and family. John touched many people’s lives and was always there to lend a helping hand to whoever needed one. He took care of his sister-in-law, Veronica, when she was recuperating from surgery and ill. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Cities of Gold Hotel and Casino in the Conference Room.
