Juan Jose Lovato, 73, a proud resident of Cañones, lost his battle against cancer on the afternoon of Monday, October 3, 2016, with his son at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Medardo and Adriana Lovato. His “Hermana” Natividad Lovato. Stepmother Simodosea Lovato. Brother Levi Lovato. Nieces Barbara Herrera and Elaine Lovato. Juan, a veteran of the United States ARMY, was proud to serve his country. He loved his beautiful Cañones and cherished every moment on his ranch with friends, neighbors and loved ones. Juan was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a man of faith who inspired loved ones to never give up and always be positive. Juan is survived by his son Ronnie Lovato and wife Laura of Rio Rancho. Grandchildren Brandon Vela, Isaiah and Mercedes Lovato. Sister Cordy Madrid and husband Richard of Canones. Sister Nora Garcia and husband Filimon of La Mesilla. Close friends, Felina Trujillo, Carol Lopez and Martin Valdez. A devotional service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Espanola. Funeral Service will be Monday, October 10, 2016 at 12:o0 p.m. at Victory Faith Church, with burial to follow at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Brandon Vela, Isaiah Lovato, Levi Lucero, Ryan Martinez, Ricky Madrid, and Felix Valdez, honorary pallbearers are Mercedes Lovato, Tio Fred Lovato, Reina Trujillo, Rhonda Maestas, Jackie Sawyer, and Evy Cordova.
