JOHN DENNIS BACA, 55, a resident of Nambe, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 with his family surrounding him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Alice Baca; paternal grandparents, Ricardo and Maria Baca; maternal grandparents, Ramon and Barbarita Garcia; brother-in-law, Dennis Nieto and nephews, Michael Nieto and Daniel Romero. John was a plumber by trade. He was well liked and respected and always helped people in need. He loved his nieces and nephews like they were his own children. He also loved fishing and taking the kids to the movies. Mr. Baca is survived by his father, Pilar Baca; brother and sisters, Raymond R. Baca, Barbara Nieto, Charlene Baca and companion Richard, Annette Montoya, Martha Romero and husband Mario, Laura Benavidez, Karla Baca and companion Pete Paniagua all of Nambe; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Baca, Lonnie Montoya, Candace Baca, Marshall and Matthew Romero, Isaiah, Joshua and Kyle Benavidez, Krystle and Paul Baca, Octavio and Sierra Paniagua; close friend, Robert and numerous great-nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Francis de Assisi Catholic Church in Nambe with a memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. The family of John Baca has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
