JOE L. MARTINEZ (LORRY), 86, a resident of Los Ojos, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe J. and Laura Martinez; brothers, Felipe Martinez, Jr. and wife Della, Johnny Martinez and Ike Martinez; sisters, Josephine Petty, Cordilla “Pitsy” Clevenger, and Dolores Garcia. Mr. Martinez is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Candy Martinez of Los Ojos; children, Larry Martinez and wife Zrita of Albuquerque and Richard Martinez of Los Ojos; grandchildren, Brendon Martinez, Joseph Martinez both of Los Ojos, Lilah Odam of Florida and Dylan Jordan of California; special cousins, Silas and Ellen Romero; 2 great-granddaughters and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also at the San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos. Burial to follow at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Joe L. Martinez (Lorry) has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
