JOE (SOJO) L. TRUJILLO, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Age 74, a lifelong resident of La Mesilla, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He went home to be with our Lord and his wife. He was born in El Llano on April 23, 1940 to Juan and Maria Braublia Trujillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Braublia Trujillo; in-laws, Jose Benancio and Lugarda A. Martinez; sisters, Nora Voight and Candie Valdez; brothers, Adrian Trujillo, Phil Trujillo, Mike Archuleta and Gilbert Trujillo; sisters-in-law, Esther Trujillo, Gloria Trujillo and Pam Voight; brother-in-law, Manuel Valdez; nephews, Joseph Martinez, Ivan Trujillo, Robert Padilla and Nestor Martinez and niece, Janelle Martinez. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his children, Luisita Duran and husband Michael of Santa Cruz, Antonio Trujillo and wife Martha of La Mesilla and Janet Duran and husband Jerry of Guachupangue; grandchildren, Justine Martinez, Lloyd Duran and wife Alisha, Gerald Duran, Matthew Trujillo and Janel Ortiz; great-grandchildren, Kayla DeVargas, Amberly Ortiz, Marissa Ortiz, Bethanny Martinez-Valdez, Dustin Martinez-Valdez, Destiny Duran, Melayah Duran and Lyrik Duran; a very dear Yorkie named Rusty who was his companion after his wife of 51 years passed away; brother, Armando Trujillo and wife Teresa; sisters-in-law, Christy Trujillo, Rosanna Padilla and husband Rosendo; brothers-in-law, Nestor Martinez and wife Sylvia and Bill Voight along with many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz with the following serving as pallbearers, Lloyd Duran, Matthew Trujillo, Johnny Padilla, Derrik Voight, Leo Valdez and Eugene Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A very special “Thank You” to his friend, Tony “Gambler” Trujillo who made it a point to call him and his family regularly to see how he was doing. The family of Joe (Sojo) L.
