Joe G. - "Josecito" Montoya

Joe G. Montoya “Josecito”, 86, a resident of San Pedro/Cundiyo passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday April 22, 2015. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Celestina and Jose E. Montoya; brothers, Manuel, Juan, and Amadeo Quintana; in-laws, Estefanita and Elizario Garcia, plus many friends and relatives. Joe is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloria Montoya; children, Joyce Markusfeld, Paul Montoya (Priscilla), Consuelo Montoya (Sam Loftin), Joe Montoya (Margaret Martinez); grandchildren, Joseph Markusfeld (Staci), Teresa Gregory (Stan), Francisca Montoya (George), Daniel Montoya (Shey), great-grandchildren, Alexis and Alana Markusfeld, Benjamin Gregory, Georgia and Tomas Vigil plus many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to his care giver Praxedes Martinez. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers are Joseph Markusfeld, Stan Gregory, Daniel Montoya, Mario Vigil, Darren Quintana, and Sam Loftin, honorary pallbearers named are Ted Roybal, Jake Vigil and Praxedes Martinez. The family of Joe G. Montoya has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.\r\n \r\n
