Joe Vigil

Joe G. Vigil, 78, a resident of Peñasco, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018.  Joe was born on March 24, 1939 in Embudo, NM. He is preceded in death by his parents, Esequiel and Sophia Vigil and is survived by his sister, Faby Lopez (Nelson), Laura Gurule (late husband Lauriano) of Rio Lucio, and brother, Teddy Vigil (Margaret) of Santa Fe; nephew whom he helped raise, Jerry Gurule (Mae) of Rio Lucio as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. also at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco with a burial to follow at the Vigil Family Cemetery in Rio Lucio. Serving the family as pallbearers will be his nephews, Herald Lopez, Alex Lugo, Jeffrey Sandoval, Johnny Vigil, Delfinio Vigil and Anthony Vigil, Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Gurule.
