Joe L. Samora (Grandpa Joe), 72, a resident of Chimayo, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018. He was born on November 1, 1945 in Park View, New Mexico and was raised in Las Nutrias, New Mexico. He worked as rancher and enjoyed spending his time in the mountains camping, hunting and watching the wild horses roam. He was a kind and gentle man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Juan Pablo and Julianita Samora; his brothers Felipe, Nemecio, Aurelio, Cristobal and Horacio Samora, sisters; Andreita Garcia and Ruth Archuleta. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Sandra Samora, his children; Leticia Martinez (Dennis), Gloria Samora (Victor), Paul Samora (Morgana), Veronica Samora, Cristobal Samora (Stephanie), Jeff Culin (Patty) and Jimmy Culin (Gloria); his brother Alfonso Samora (Presiliana), sister Julia Ulibarri (Epimenio), niece Annie Garcia who he considered his sister, grandsons; Jeffrey, Justin and Isaiah whom he helped raise; and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was loved and will be greatly missed by many. Our family would like to thank the caregivers Stephanie, Francine and his sister-in-law Cindy as well as Del Corazon Hospice who helped all of us through this difficult time. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 P.M. on March 21, 2018 with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 P.M at De Vargas Funeral Home in Espanola N.M. The family of Joe L.
