Joe Griego

JOE O. GRIEGO, 78, a resident of Española, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Magdalena Griego; wife, Mary Griego; siblings, Benjamin, Herminio, Eliza, Carmen, Felix and Antonio Griego and Amelia Lopez. Joe was known to many as a happy man. He loved his family dearly. He loved to joke and was such a generous person. He loved to visit with all his friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Joe is survived by his son, Jon Griego; granddaughters, Marylynn and Emilia Griego; sisters, Felice Trujillo, Audora Jaramillo, Higinia Martinez and husband Sy. The family would like to say a special thank you to Amber care nurses, Ashley and Maria and Claudette, neighbor Phil Romero for the wonderful meals, Raul and Carmen Arroyo and Ms. Jimenez for their wonderful care. Public visitation will be begin on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at a later date. Serving the family as pallbearers, Larry Wilson, Damian Mendez, Melvin Jaramillo, Steven Griego, Kevin Griego and Roland Vigil. The family of Joe O. Griego has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
