Joan Ninfa - age 82 - Chimayo Montoya

JOAN NINFA MONTOYA, 82, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tranquilino and Sotera Ulibarri; siblings, Antonio, David and Ben Ulibarri and Agripina Medina; son-in-law, Harold Sanchez and grandson, Nicholas Sanchez. Mrs. Montoya is survived by her husband, Manuel C. Montoya of Chimayo; children, Janice Sanchez and companion Tim L. Gonzales, Benjamin Montoya and wife Sandra and Catherine Gonzales and husband Alfonso all of Chimayo; grandchildren, Harold Sanchez, Jr., Marlena Sanchez, Cynthia Martinez and husband Remie, Felicia Montoya and Evren Gonzales and companion Rosie Martinez; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Isaiah, Shawn, Aliyah; sister, Matilda Sandoval of Albuquerque; in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, January 8, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to take place on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Tim L. Gonzales, Remie Martinez, Evren Gonzales, Harold Sanchez, Jr., Jimmy Sandoval and Mel Herrera. Honorary pallbearers, David Montoya, Lawrence Martinez and Salomon Montoya.
